Europe’s Largest Poker Tournament Returns – The Boylepoker International Poker Open 2010 With an estimated prize pool of €250,000, €20,000 added by the sponsor, and additional VIP starting chips, the ever innovative International Poker Open is set to raise the bar again in October 2010

Boylepoker has announced the return of Europe's largest live no-limit Texas hold'em poker tournament, the International Poker Open 2010.

The €180 + €20 buy-in freezeout takes place from October 15 to 17, 2010 at the Regency Hotel, Dublin and will have an estimated prize pool of €250,000 including €20,000 added by Boylepoker.

To celebrate the launch of this year’s IPO, Boylepoker is hosting a $1+$0.10 buy-in freezeout on Friday, April 23 at 7:45 p.m. with two tickets to the IPO 2010 added to the prize pool.

The IPO 2010 consists of two day’s play (with a choice of day 1A and day 1B as the starting day) and, like last year, players will have a chance to increase their starting chip stack from 8,000 to 10,000 by playing on Boylepoker in the run up to the event.

Players who register for the IPO in May can secure all 2,000 extra chips by earning 500 VIP points in May alone. From June to September, players who earn a total of 250 VIP points at Boylepoker in a single month can earn an extra 1,000 chips and those who manage to earn 250 VIP points in two separate months, will receive the maximum allocation of 2,000 extra chips.

Additionally, players who earn the extra chips will be eligible to use their VIP points in exclusive freerolls at Boylepoker.

Paul Spillane, Head of Poker at the site said, "Last year we set the record for the largest live tournament field ever assembled in Europe. With innovative twists like the additional VIP chips and €20,000 added value, we’re confident the 2010 event will prove just as popular and we expect another sell out field.”

Jesse May, the “Voice of Poker” said the IPO is what poker is supposed to be about. “You get to be a part of the main event for the price of a satellite,” said May. “Last year I had so much fun, I booked my ticket for next year well before level two! It's such a great weekend, the only thing as much fun as still being in the tournament, is being at the bar the day after you get knocked out! A great weekend, full of great poker, great people, and plenty of stories at the bar."

To register for the tournament simply download the Boylepoker software, open the Poker Lobby, go to 'Scheduled Tournaments' > 'Specials' > 'Boylepoker Exclusives' and choose your preferred start date.

Players should register early to avoid disappointment as last year's event sold out long before the closing date. It attracted a record-breaking field of 1,440 runners from 18 countries and was won by German Markus Sippe, who took home $62,250 for topping the field.

More details, including the qualifying schedule, will be released soon.
